So YARN creative!

Today's item of choice....

Y A R N !

Join me in creating something unique & simple that won't bust the budget!
Today we are creating YARN letters!

These lovely creations can be made with lots of detail or using a simple wrapping method
This time around we are going to take the the simple route!

How did she do that?!
let me show you...

First things first, you must get the items needed

YARN
you can get any color and size but i find that the thicker the yarn the more yarn-e look you get
Either wood or chipboard letters will work just fine. You pick the size that fits the area you are wanting to put them in your home
ADHESIVE
I found using a roll on adhesive like Ad Tech Permanent Bond or even hot glue works best because they instantly adhere
SCISSORS
whatever you have around the home will work just fine

Now that you have everything together, find a place where you can spread out and get to work!

To make a simple Yarn letter you will need to pick a starting point at either end (top or bottom) of your letter.
Begin by adhering the end of the yarn to the back side of the letter, starting at the edge like so...
Now that you have the end attached it's time to start wrapping! as you wrap your letter be sure close gaps between the yarn by simply pushing them together....

Once you have your letter wrapped you will find that there are a few gaps where the yarn would not attach...

No fear! This is just part of the process
What you are going to do now is measure the length of the empty space with the yarn, leaving enough excess yarn to wrap around the edges....

Time to finish it up! To fill in the blank edges at the top and bottom of your letter, all you have to do it measure the exact length of the edges put down/roll on the glue and slap on the yarn! Okay so maybe not just like that ;) but you get the gist of it! in case you are a little lost here's what you do...

Guess what...You're done!
These can also be made with more detail by applying adhesive to the top surface of the letter/number and making your own personal design out of the yarn.
I look forward to hearing feedback on today's creation and how it has worked in your home!

Please send me pictures of your projects so you too can help encourage others to find their creative side!

helping you find your creative side
